Company Info
Description
Hoak Media Corporation is a Dallas based
broadcasting company focused on the acquisition, development
and operation of television and radio stations in small and
medium-sized markets in the United States. In television,
this would include markets that rank from 75 to 200, as reported
by A.C. Nielsen Company. In radio, the Company would pursue
stations in markets defined as 100 or smaller, and possibly
even unrated markets.
Hoak Media is focused on acquiring primarily
big three network affiliated stations but will consider other
networks to complement existing stations in a particular market.
The Company believes that it can acquire these stations and
improve both revenue and operating cash flow by applying its
hands on active management style. Hoak Media seeks to have
a large local television presence in its markets by combining
strong network programming with leading local news. Where
possible, Hoak Media will try to operate duopolies to further
improve the Company's share of both local and national revenue
in the market and reduce the operating expenses of the combined
stations.
When reviewing all acquisition candidates,
the Company evaluates a number of items including the following:
stations management, audience share, revenue share, network
affiliation, programming commitments as well as the overall
cost structure.
The Company, which was formed in August
of 2003, acquired its first stations in November of the same
year and is actively pursuing acquisition in additional markets.
